Description
A 3-hour workshop combining traditional rebozo wrapping (closing the bones) with therapeutic drumming
When was the last time you allowed yourself to be truly held?
In this deeply grounding and nourishing experience, you’ll work in small groups of three to give and receive the traditional practice of closing the bones, being wrapped with seven rebozos (Mexican woven shawls) that have held women through birth, transition, grief, and healing for centuries.
What happens:
You’ll take turns being gently wrapped over 7 points from head to toe, creating a cocoon of safety and containment around your body. While held in this wrapping, you’ll receive live therapeutic drum healing, the vibration and beats working directly with your nervous system to drop you into deep rest and regulation.
This isn’t passive relaxation. The wrapping provides physical boundary and support, and nervous system safety, whilst the drumming slows your brain waves, and the vibrations penetrates through tissue, allowing your body to process and restore in ways that bypass the thinking mind entirely.
Each woman will experience all three roles: being wrapped, wrapping another, and drumming/holding space. This reciprocity matters: it breaks down the helper/helped dynamic and reminds us we’re all both.
After practice rounds, we’ll gather for group sharing, close with some drumming and a song, then spend some time returning to the here and now before closing, over tea and nourishing snacks.
This experience is for you if:
- You’re craving deep rest but struggle to switch off
- You’re navigating transition and need holding
- You want to experience traditional women’s wisdom in a grounded, accessible way
- You’re curious about somatic healing beyond talk therapy
- You need community that goes beyond surface connection
No experience needed. Just bring your open heart and willingness to be held.
