Why Postnatal Recovery Matters (WPRM) online course early adopters
Why Postnatal Recovery Matters online course early adopters offer
Hi and welcome to the Why Postnatal Recovery Matters online course early adopters page.
I’m so excited you want to join me in creating this online course!
This course will be based on the research material that I gathered for my upcoming book Why postnatal recovery matters (to be published by Pinter and Martin this summer).
As a doula I have witnessed time and time again that the postnatal period is the poor little sister of the birth world, in that families often invest in preparing for the birth, but few in preparing for the postnatal period.
And yet my research showed me that as little as 70 years ago we still had a period of babymoon and rest as standard in the UK.
I am creating this course because I want to change the landscape of the postpartum towards a more supportive one, and I want to make the knowledge available in the book more widely available, so that it can reach more people.
Who is this course for?
It is looking likely that I will end up creating two separate courses: one for birthworkers, antenatal and postnatal educators, therapists, and anyone who support women and their families during the perinatal period. And another, separate course, for pregnant families who want to get the best preparation possible for the postpartum.
What is the investment required?
£49. This will help generate funds to pay for creating the course (recording equipment, paying my webguy to create the course on my website, etc), and to get a commitment from you. (if this is a stretch for you financially at the moment please talk to me. I am opened to payment plans and skills swaps)
Once the course design process is underway, I will be sending you email updates every 2 weeks, with course materials (both by email and one the Facebook group) so that you can give me your feedback on the quality of the course material.
What do you get in return? (apart from the satisfaction of helping to create the first UK online rebozo course?)
First you will get to access all the course material before anyone else.
Second you will get access to all the amazing research and evidence I gathered in writing the book.
Third you will benefit from all my experience and knowledge as a scientist, antenatal educator, doula, workshop facilitator and healer.
All of this will allow you to offer new services to your clients in terms of planning and executing a supportive postnatal period.
You will also be part of a group of pioneers helping to remodel the postnatal support landscape towards something more supportive and nourishing for new mothers and society as a whole.
In return for your financial support, commitment and your time in giving me feedback for this course, you will also gain access to the finished course(s) for free (I intend to price the birthworker course at £249) and you will get listed in the credits at the end of the course
Here’s what the course contents will look like
